Voice/Vocal Coaching/Guitar Lessons
Libby Johnson Music & Voice Studio, New York, NY
Hello, and welcome to my studio page!
I offer voice lessons/vocal coaching both in-person at my studio in NYC and on Zoom. I love helping others grow and reach new goals with their singing. My experience has been that through voicework and coaching we are able to achieve more freedom in both the physical and emotional ranges. Our sessions will enable you to sing with increased ease, confidence, and greater expression. I believe that singing is natural and fundamental for all of us, and can be not only a joyful mode of self expression, but can impact our lives in unexpected ways as we literally ‘find’ our voices. I work with students of all levels, from young singers to professional artists.
My method of voice pedagogy draws from Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, a body-based method of vocal training based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional Bel Canto vocal training. Our lessons will combine technique to develop vocal skills, ear training, developing repertoire and coaching on student material.

BM, Berklee College of Music, focus on jazz vocal pedagogy and performance, arranging, piano and composition. Certified Level III, Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method
Students start out working on songs during the first lesson, and will move to learning guitar technique, rhythm and fingerstyle techniques, music theory, sight-reading, notation, and mastering a variety of material across multiple genres. I work with multiple styles, using nylon string, steel string and electric guitars. For students who sing, the lesson can be a combination of voice and guitar, and includes coaching on movement, performance and singing and playing simultaneously. My goal is for students to become proficient players and to explore and develop their own sense of artistry, musicality, enjoyment, and self-expression.
